Ac, the Rune of the Oak

***New Content Added Daily***

Meaning: oak tree   Phonetic Equivalent: 'ae'

Anglo-Saxon Rune Poem

The oak fattens the flesh of pigs
for the children of men.
Often it traverses the gannet's bath
and the ocean proves whether the oak keeps faith
in an honourable fashion.

There are no Icelandic or Norwegian rune poems.

Ac
Cala Gobraith, 2013

Abundant gifts of strength and resilience
are among the attributes of Ac.
August trees offer wisdom to
aid in grounding firm, digging deep, finding balance,
and the ability to sway with the wind,
adapting as necessary to the whims of the world,
and applying the attributes of acacia and oak.

Galina Krasskova sees in Ac stoic endurance, especially in the face of great obstacles, and with strength and perseverance.

Kaldera associates Ac with Angerboda, first wife of Loki. He sees it as a rune of endurance, of being an immovable force.

I see Ac as a rune of patience and timelessness, the strength and grace of towering trees. It is a rune of being firmly grounded in one's self. For me, it is also a rune of empathy and being in tune with the environment.
Meditation associations: towering sequoia trees, branches swaying in the wind, massive mountains,  Devil's Tower...
