support, helping us to see we are not secluded and alone.

Stan helps us find stability in the shifting sands of our lives and

shows us the way to find the keystones of our beliefs.

Krasskova sees Stan as a rune that is a truth-teller, cutting through false pretenses and that if it shows up in a divinatory capacity, it is a marker rune that suggests the reader is on the right track of thinking.

Kaldera considers this rune one that can help you find the root of beliefs and conflicts; that it points the way to the 'keystone' of your beliefs. If you can uncover and modify that, then everything that is supported by the 'keystone' changes with it.

For me, this rune is one that can guide you to the 'keystone' of your beliefs and help you to change them. It is also a rune that can be used to offer or add support to workings.

Os teaches us to own our

own truth in a gentle, unassuming manner.

To Galina Krasskova, this rune is one pertaining to receptivity, creativity, communication, inspiration, and the healing or damaging power of words. She considers it a rune of the seer and oracle. She associates this rune with Odin, Loki and Bragi.

For Kaldera, Os is prophetic voice, speaking divine truths, speaking one's truth, using one's words wisely, good communication, and charmed speech. He also associates Os with Odin, Loki and Bragi.

I see Os as a rune of wisdom, of being able to use the knowledge you have. If Ansuz is knowledge and communication, Os is how you use that knowledge and communicative ability.

Yr awakens a mental yearning, a deep

yen for the peace and clarity it can awaken within.

Krasskova sees Yr as a rune of craftsmanship, close attention to detail, taking the time to do things well, mindfulness, hard work, study, and concentration. She associates this rune with the dwarf of Norse myth named Andvari.

Raven Kaldera considers Yr a rune of Aurvandil the archer, and notes that others associate it with Waylund the smith, who is Aurvandil's brother. He sees in it aspects of focus, obsession, care, and patience.

For me, this rune is one denoting intense focus. I see it as going hand in hand with both Kennaz and with Tyr, the runes of creativity and discipline. Strong focus is needed for both of those endeavors.

Ior, World Serpent, guardian of

inner and outer realms both, the keeper of thresholds.

Ior is the boundary warden that keeps us safe or

incarcerates us behind impenetrable walls of

imagination and illusions formed by our own

intent or ignorance, influencing our social and emotional

interactions with self and others.

Krasskova notes that Ior is a Northumbrian rune. She considers it a rune of boundaries, as well as the knowing of when to defend boundaries or to let people through. To her, Ior is a rune that teaches one how to challenge assumptions and to churn up the things we have buried deep within and that it can be used for warding.

Raven Kaldera sees Ior as being the rune of Jormungander, the World-Serpent of Norse mythology. He considers it a rune of boundaries and of the liminal space that a boundary represents, part of two things at the same time.

For me, Ior is a rune of boundaries, warding, warning, contemplation, especially dispassionate contemplation, and control of fear. I associate it with snakes, especially rattlesnakes. These snakes are shy, but territorial. They will give warning before striking.

Meditation associations: sound of rattlesnake rattle, coiled and content serpents, sense of cool efficiency, the limbless dragon-kin known as wurms, hissing and growling of cats warning others away.

Cweorth, the Rune of Wildfire

Cweorth is swift death,

calamitous wildfire reducing all to cinders.

Cweorth is the alchemic force of

calcination, a catalyst to change,

consuming the ego in a

conflagration that heals the essence,

changing chaos to catharsis and creating the soul anew.

To Krasskova, Cweorth is a rune that symbolizes dramatic, fiery destruction. She considers it transformation at its most violent, but notes that it can be creative and destructive at the same time and that it will be drawn into your life when balance needs to be restored. It is a cleansing, but oft an uncomfortable one.

Kaldera considers Cweorth to be a rune of purification and destruction; fires hot enough to burn flesh and bone to piles of ash.

For me, this rune is another that reminds me of my favorite 'Auguries' quote. It is the swift and oft violent transformative destruction of a wildifire. It devours all in its path. Misused, this runic energy can be quite dangerous, both to the wielder and to others. Cweorth is the rune best associated with the fires of alchemic calcination. It is a rune of 'death' and 'change', but unlike the slow decay of Ear, that lets things go a little at a time, this rune is one of swift and fiery death, a burning away of impurities. This is one rune that I strongly associate with Loki.

Ac, the Rune of the Oak

August trees offer wisdom to

aid in grounding firm, digging deep, finding balance,

and the ability to sway with the wind,

adapting as necessary to the whims of the world,

and applying the attributes of acacia and oak.

Galina Krasskova sees in Ac stoic endurance, especially in the face of great obstacles, and with strength and perseverance.

Kaldera associates Ac with Angerboda, first wife of Loki. He sees it as a rune of endurance, of being an immovable force.

I see Ac as a rune of patience and timelessness, the strength and grace of towering trees. It is a rune of being firmly grounded in one's self. For me, it is also a rune of empathy and being in tune with the environment.
